Zippy is days away from announcing a new Afghan strategy, but his immediate battle could come from liberals who are vowing to ''spank'' the president for committing tens of thousands of more troops to the eight-year conflict. In a prime-time speech Tuesday from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Obama is expected to announce that he is sending up to 35,000 additional troops to Afghanistan beginning next year.

The leftoids can criticize 0bama all they want now but when it comes to his re-election or that of others on the extreme left they will be there because 0bama is their Marxist and that's all they've got. After dumping Hillary what other choice do they have? Their criticism is thus hollow in the end though in the short term it could mean fewer donations to certain members of Congress.
Hmmmmmmm. Looks like Zippy might be 'danged if he does' and 'danged if he doesn't. IOW, he's caught between a rock and a hard place. If he sends troops, he's in trouble. If he doesn't send troops, he's in trouble. Wiggle your way out of this one, Zip-a-rooney

This is exactly why he dithered. He endangers his domestic agenda by leading the country. Best to remain in campaign mode, never making decisions or leading. Best for him, bad for us.
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of situation one gets into when one has no principals whatsoever. In order to get elected, of course he had to look like the complete Marxist he is to his liberal Marxist base, but also had to throw some bones to those coveted 'moderates' who didn't want to lose the wars currently ongoing in the Middle East. Now he has to pick his poison: who will do more damage to him politically? Both, would be my take, or in other words, 'oh what a tangeld web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.'
ReplyDeleteI have always argued that we need to finish what we start. But that was before his majesty took power. He has no experience to make judgment calls in war. Unless he relies 100 % on those in the field, please bring them all back. They are now being sacrificed in vain and my flag flies at half mast constantly for our nation's loss. He will ultimately do what is best for him politically. That's all he is good at.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Obama depends on the leftoids for most of his substantive support. I'm actually slightly surprised by this decision.
ReplyDeleteHe kinda has to send them now. If he doesn't, at least in his mind, he won't even be a consideration for re-election. All of his analysis (dithering) is based on guessing wrong about the political climate in this country. He truly wants to believe that this is a left-center country. Wrong again, Mr. obama.
ReplyDeleteThis shows me that he is nothing but a puppet.
